We Are Grateful!
To those that have participated in the bus fundraiser, we are so grateful for your love to the work that is being done in Sandtown-Winchester. It breaks my heart to think that many of the children we serve can’t and don’t have the opportunities that our kids take for granted and usually don’t even think twice about.
If you are as diligent a parent over your children as Shari and I are over our kids, Brittani and Bryon, then you want them to have the best of everything while keeping it in moderation and assuring that Jesus is in everything that we do for them. The children we serve in Baltimore don’t have those same family amenities!
They don’t know what it's like to take a family trip. They don't know what it's like to go to a theatrical production, or to sit in a restaurant and choose their meal to eat while enjoying great fellowship.
What is an even greater tragedy is they have no one to lead them to Jesus. It is not because they don’t desire these things; it is because many of the parents of these children are not in position to make it happen, or may not even be in the home, so the child is either left to their own devices or is taken advantage of by corrupt and evil members of the community.
Shari and I have committed our lives to helping as many kids as God will bring to our ministry.
The blessing in this bus will be the ability to expose the children to more activities OUTSIDE of their community. It affords them the opportunity to see that there is life to live and there are greater things to do, and perhaps, with Jesus and the right amount of love and patience, these children can grow up with a dream, a drive and aspirations for a bright and prosperous future.
There's Still Time!
For those that have been thinking or wanting to give to the bus fund…there is still time. The donation is a tax write-off, but more than that, it is a gift to the forward momentum of God's Kingdom as we pour into the lives of these children that really need folks like us to help them along.
We are progressing to our goal and your offering of love could get us so much closer! We believe that God will make the way and bring the reality of the ministry bus to fruition.
